Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation is the first and one of the most critical steps when installing new flooring. Skipping this process or not performing it properly can lead to many problems such as uneven floors, bubbling and peeling. Surface preparation is the demolition, removal and cleaning of existing flooring and the bonding between the subfloor and flooring in order to leave the surface ready for new floor installation. This includes the removal of resinous coatings, epoxy mortar, glues, tile and even carpet. Surface preparation ensures proper bonding of the new flooring to extend its strength and durability, as well as create a flat and even surface for installation. At Sub-Floor Specialties, we have the necessary equipment and experience to get your subfloor ready for installation.
